Data Sharing at Pinfold Medical Practice
There have been several schemes being implemented by the West Leicester Clinical Commissioning Group recently which have asked us to share patient data. We would like you to be aware of these schemes and ask that you inform us if you are not happy for your data to be used in any or all of these schemes.
1. Summary Care Record
You will be contacted by post about this one. This scheme would allow patient data to be uploaded onto the NHS Spine. This would then be accessible to District Nurse, A&E and Out of hours staff. This is for the purpose of direct patient care.
2. Risk Stratification
This scheme aims to transfer the majority of the clinical record to a secure server. The data would be anonymised and then analysed. The purpose is to identify patients who may be in need of additional care. The practice would then contact these patients directly and offer them further services if they wished.
3. Patient Confidential Data
This is a scheme where some data is extracted to enable the NHS locally and nationally to make decisions about what services to commission and for monitoring purposes.
We take your rights to confidentiality very seriously. If you wish to opt out of any or all of the schemes please inform us in writing as soon as possible.
Every practice in the country is being asked to participate in the schemes.
